I am just starting to reignite my passion for photography after leaving the 35mm SLR behind many years ago. My journey into digital photography began in earnest in January 2010 when I purchased a Nikon D3000 on a complete whim. Since then, I have clicked the shutter many times, hit the delete button often and delved into teaching myself post-processing.

I myself mostly enjoy shooting nature/landscape photography. I also love shooting (and seeing) images that explore the various places/cultures of this world, portraits that capture the essence of one's soul, vintage and abandoned things and architectural/street photography. A self proclaimed color junkie, I am drawn to vibrant color but also the soft, dreamy qualities of an image. I am fond of saying that I specialize in not specializing when it comes to a genre of photography...I will shoot whatever catches my eye and I find moves me, despite conventional "wisdom" which seems to necessitate picking one area in which to concentrate. Versatility is my middle name and I have no intention to change that. No matter how common or seemingly plain a subject, I try to portray it in the best "light" :) possible and with my own original and personal point of view. Iconic shots and epic locations are great but I believe that the everyday deserves just as much attention. My inspiration is mostly nature, both the natural world and human nature, and my goal in photography is to make art, capture beauty and provoke emotion.

Living in the SW USA, I am exposed to a unique type of location and many of my shots are inspired by this environment. My post processing has gotten somewhat better and while I believe that education is great, I subscribe to the notion that experimentation is an even better teacher. I hope my journey to better my skills never ends. What can I say; I just love photography.
Thanks for stopping by!
